'Some of the best features of this 'Gem of the Lake' at The Waterfront of The Historical Flying Arrow Ranch are obviously the views, but it’s also the proximity to town. An Artist’s Dream

'The Gem of the Lake' at The Waterfront of the Flying Arrow Ranch, as painted by Thomas Kinkade in one of his last artistic expressions, is a cascade of living trees pouring over basalt benches down to the water's edge.

It is a legacy of potential, waiting for the right buyer to manifest his or her dream.

This is the last vestige of acreage and waterfront remaining of the Historical Flying Arrow Ranch.

Where Eagles Wait in Branches High

By the fact that this remnant of the Flying Arrow Ranch is waterside, it is the seasonal hunting ground for dozens of American bald eagles, our national bird. They perch in your trees and others all along this shoreline, watching the water for migrating Kokanee salmon on their spawning run. Watching these magnificent birds has become a tourist attraction for people who come to the area to watch and record this phenomenon daily from tour boats provided by the hotel and, of course, from numerous private boats as well, carrying friends and families for the chance to photograph this beautiful drama of nature.

In addition to the eagles, the diversity, and abundance of wildlife are spectacular. It is not unusual to find nature's visitors such as moose, elk, pelicans, wild turkeys, beavers, grouses, and much more — it's not unusual to see these visitors in your yard and neighborhood.

5 miles to the west lies the spectacular Gozzer Ranch. Gozzer Ranch and the Flying Arrow Ranch were the two great historic ranches along the northeast Lake Coeur d’Alene shoreline... Both over 600 acres, both cattle operations. Gozzer Ranch became a premier private golf course community developed by the Discovery Land Company, while the historic waterfront of the Flying Arrow Ranch sparsely changed over 80 years.

This expanded view looking east at sunset across the upper steppe shows the potential to board horses and/or install a heliport, barn, and shop to accommodate the functional aesthetics of a truly custom home on the top of your property.

Approximately 20 of the 52.3 acres comprise the grassy field at the top. It supports great potential. Parsed with natural grasses and small timber, it presents the ultimate site not only for the Grand Home but an equestrian center, barn, shop, etc.

The Importance of Waterfront

One of the greater assets of your private holding is the length of its waterfront, 1391 linear feet, to be exact. There’s a principle we have found through this ownership: The one who owns the waterfront controls the land behind it. We found that to be very true. That’s why the whole 52.3 acres is for sale as one piece, not parceled into several.

This is a largely contiguous shoreline. If we calculate correctly, it is the third largest privately held waterfront piece left on the highly desired north shores of this magnificent lake.

You also control how people access it, from above as well as from below. It is certainly the most aesthetic stretch of waterfront land remaining in the area. It has several choice building sites on and along its solid foundation of possible roads, pathways, and ATV/horse-riding routes.

The Drama of Backdrop

Due to the bench characteristic of your layered basalt outcroppings, visitors to your property have an ever-present scenic view looking northeast, north to northwest across the blue water. The Coeur d’Alene Mountains lie directly north and northeast. The northwest view looks out across the Rathdrum Prairie, over the top of Coeur d’Alene all the way to Mount Spokane. That view encompasses parts of Post Falls and much of the development taking place currently in the Rathdrum Prairie.

Highway 95 leads north out of Coeur d'Alene, taking you up through Sandpoint past Lake Pend Oreille and above Bonners Ferry before it divides at the junction of Highway 2 to Libby, Montana, and then again further north in the Kootenai River Valley, where it splits to two border crossings into Canada: Port Hill in the center of that valley (past some of the best Hops Farms in America) and East Port if you continue northeast on the longer route.

Behind your property is a scenic drive on Highway 97, designated 'the Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway' by the State of Idaho. You will wind around through beautiful country, past the Gozzer Ranch, south for several miles to the southern end of Lake Coeur d'Alene. You will pass through the quaint little artistic setting of Harrison, a small town that in the 19th century was larger than Coeur d'Alene. If you had a mental lapse, you might think you were somewhere on an old European route.

When the Flight is Right

The new state-of-the-art Stancraft Center at the Coeur d'Alene Airport, is a premier support for private jet-set air travel. It is one of the best and most popular in the Pacific Northwest, very popular. Mountain-free landings and takeoffs on the Rathdrum Prairie ½ mile off Highway 95. That’s within only 15 to 20 minutes from your boat moored at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Marina in downtown of the lakeside city.

The greatest comfort about having Interstate 90 only minutes from your property, as you can see in the background of the image, is that you access it quickly for a B-line to the Spokane International Airport, an hour away.

Serenity Near Civilization

The northern view creates a cool summer evening, as the sunset on the western ridges lingers without being blocked by tall mountains. Sunrise warmly greets you with inspirational views that promote health and peace of mind. There is a great degree of tranquility and life emanating from this sanctuary, as your eyes drink in the natural beauty, your ears hear the songs of birds and evening crickets, and you breathe in the healing and calming aromas of the native flora.

Near at Hand and Afar

I invite you to compare regionally and worldwide why I believe this is an unrivaled opportunity.

In Conclusion

Coeur d'Alene is the go-to resort capital for millionaires and billionaires worldwide. Many of them live here year round; others vacation in the luxurious 'Coeur d'Alene Resort — World Renowned Destination.'

Imagine picking up your guests across the lake in a beautiful custom-built Hagadone wood boat and having them watch the gondola appear through the trees to take them up to your house as their boat arrives at your private dock. It’s like being on a Disneyland ride! And with Coeur d'Alene being an area of 4 distinct seasons, the scenic ride would change quarterly.

If the Grand Estate at The Gem of the Lake—the Waterfront of the Historical Flying Arrow Ranch—is of interest to you, it would be my delight to show you this last vestige of serenity near civilization.
